March 2011: Presented paper, “Giorgione’s Tempesta” at the annual meeting of the South-Central Renaissance conference in St. Louis. This paper included new material identifying the source of the “solitary bird on the rooftop.”
April 2010: Presented paper, “Giorgione’s Tempesta” at the annual meeting of the Renaissance Society of America in Venice. This paper identified the famous painting as “The Rest on the Flight into Egypt.” It also included a new interpretation of a “lost” Giorgione heretofore mistakenly called “The Discovery of Paris.”
Experience:
1972-2008: Financial Advisor representing Ameriprise Financial Services. In 36 years built up a substantial financial planning practice and specialized in retirement planning. Retired in 2008 to pursue interest in History and Art.
1965-1972: Assistant Professor of History at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT.
Education:
1972: PhD in History from Fordham University, New York. Field of concentration was 18th Century English politics under the mentorship of Ross J.S. Hoffman. Dissertation: Henry Seymour Conway and the Commons Cause, 1741-1784.
1963: M.A. Columbia University.
1961: B.A. Fordham University.
Personal:
Conducts annual tour of the stained glass windows of Our Lady of the Assumption church in Fairfield. Lectures on the Renaissance and related topics in the Fairfield Elderhostel program. Chess enthusiast.
